This family is far too acquainted with grief and loss, and now they are in the sweetest season of life with their newborn baby boy and in their dream home, which they drew up plans for together. They lived in the basement of their 1950s ranch while the main floor was gutted and renovated, to re-create a design and floor plan that would foster the best family systems and their own joy. Oh, what an incredible joy it was to photograph these three inside their gorgeous home, which was finished just weeks before they brought home their baby boy!

She came over to my studio to try on dresses for her session in advance, and when she tried on the one she chose, it was as if it had been designed just for her, it was so perfect! My hairstylist met my client at her home and did her hair prior to the session, and afterward she mentioned she felt more pampered than she did on her wedding day! My goal was to capture them in their element, snugging together and caring for their son together.

After the session, I asked my client to describe how she feels about her photographs, she said, “my most prized possession in the whole world.” <3 My heart bursts with joy in being able to create memories like these for families.
